Connect BrightSite to Claude

How to connect

1 In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors
2 Click Add custom connector
3 Paste this URL: https://onbrightsite.com/api/mcp
4 Click Connect — you'll be sent to BrightSite to sign in
5 Approve the requested permissions
6 The connector is ready in any Claude conversation

The connector uses OAuth 2.1 — Claude never sees your BrightSite password. You can revoke access anytime in BrightSite under Settings → API Keys & Connections.

What Claude can do

Once connected, Claude can:

Pages

Create, edit, publish, unpublish, and delete pages on your site.

Blog posts

Draft, edit, publish, and delete posts.

Layouts and components

Manage shared headers, footers, and reusable design components.

Forms

Create forms, view submissions, and manage form fields.

Media

Upload images and files, organize folders, attach images to pages and posts.

Redirects

Set up URL redirects.

SEO

Edit meta titles, descriptions, structured data, and site identity.

Analytics

View visitor numbers, top pages, referrers, and device and country breakdowns.

Version history

See past versions of any page, post, or component, and restore them.

If you have access to multiple BrightSite accounts, Claude will ask which one to work with on the first request.

Example prompts

Edit a page

"Update the headline on my homepage to say 'Built for fast-moving teams'"

Claude reads the current page content, edits the headline in staged content, and publishes the change. Your live site updates within seconds.

Publish a blog post

"Write a 600-word blog post announcing our new pricing and publish it"

Claude drafts the post, sets a slug and excerpt, attaches a feature image if one's available, and publishes it.

Check analytics

"What were my top 5 pages last month and where did the traffic come from?"

Claude pulls your top pages and top referrers for the last 30 days and summarizes them.

Set up a redirect

"I renamed /pricing-old to /pricing — set up a 301 redirect"

Claude creates a permanent redirect so old links keep working.

Bulk text changes

"Replace 'Free trial' with 'Start free' across all my pages"

Claude finds every page with the old phrase and updates them — staged first, so you can review before publishing.

Permissions and safety

The connector requests one scope: mcp:full. This grants Claude access to all the capabilities listed above for the BrightSite account you choose.

Destructive actions — deleting pages, posts, or media — are clearly marked, and Claude will confirm with you before running them.

You stay in control: edits land in staged fields by default, so changes don't appear on your live site until you (or Claude, with your approval) explicitly publish them.

Privacy

The connector only accesses data in BrightSite accounts you've authorized. We don't share your data with third parties beyond what's needed to fulfill your requests. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
