Building Your Site

This is the largest section, and the one you will spend most of your time in. It covers everything that makes up the site your visitors see.

If you are new, read Pages overview first, then Using the visual editor properly. The editor is where almost all day-to-day work happens.

Everything in this section

Site identity: your business name, address, contact details, opening hours and social profiles, and where each of them shows up.
Pages overview: how pages are organized, how to add one, and how addresses are formed.
Using the visual editor, the editing screen itself: selecting things, making a change, and publishing when you are ready.
Editing text and images: the everyday task of changing wording, swapping a photo and fixing a link.
Working with components: build a block once and reuse it on any page, so one edit updates them all.
Collections and repeating content: lists of similar items such as services, staff or testimonials, added and reordered without touching the design.
Page settings: a page's address, title, search description and social preview.
Layouts: the header and footer shared across pages, changed in one place.
Navigation and menus: linking your pages together and controlling what appears in the menu.
Error pages: what a visitor sees when they land on an address that does not exist.
Global code: adding a script or style rule across the whole site. Most people never need this.

Working faster

Duplicating pages and content: copy a page, post or component so you can change it without touching the original.
Search and replace across your site: swap old text for new inside a page or post, and check the draft before publishing.
