On this page

The store lets you sell on your own site. You add products, shoppers pay on your checkout page, and the money goes to your own Stripe account. Orders, customers, and reports all live in BrightSite. The store is included on every plan.

Turning it on

The store is off until you turn it on. Use the Website and Store switch at the top of the sidebar to open the store side, click Turn on store, and confirm. Your site gets shop pages at /products, /collections, and /cart. Nothing is for sale until you add products and connect Stripe. See Setting up your store.

Once the store is on, the same switch moves you between your site and your store.

What's included

Prices are one-time payments. Subscriptions aren't supported.

Fees

Stripe charges its own processing fees on every sale. On Launch, BrightSite also takes a 1% fee on each sale. Grow and Scale have no BrightSite fee.

  • The fee is taken by Stripe from each payment, before the payout reaches you. It applies to the amount the shopper pays through Stripe, so the part of an order paid by gift card isn't charged.
  • Orders you mark as paid by cash, check, or bank transfer have no fee.
  • A refund returns the fee in proportion. A full refund returns all of it.
  • A plan change applies from the next payment.

Limits

There are no product or order limits on any plan.

If your subscription ends, checkout stops. Shoppers can still browse, and see "This shop is not taking orders yet." Choose a plan to take orders again.

Using an agent

Lumi, Claude, and ChatGPT can add and edit products, manage collections, orders, discounts, gift cards, shipping, and tax, and read your sales reports. Connected AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT can't move money, so refunds, issuing gift cards, and changing a gift card's balance are done in the BrightSite app or with Lumi.

Add a navy and a gray version of our tote bag at $28 each, with 20 in stock of each.

Still stuck? Ask Lumi inside the app, or send us a note and a person will answer.
