Email campaigns let you send newsletters and announcements to the people who signed up on your site. Contacts, segments, the editor, and reports all live under Email in the sidebar. Campaigns are included on every plan.

How it fits together

  • Contacts are your audience: people who signed up through a form or your store, people you imported, and people you added by hand.
  • Segments are saved groups of contacts, based on tags and how they signed up.
  • Campaigns are emails you send to everyone or to a segment, now or at a scheduled time. Each one reports deliveries, opens, clicks, and unsubscribes.

Getting started

  1. Set your From name, From address, Reply-to, and postal address in Settings → Email. Every campaign footer needs the postal address.
  2. Verify your sending domain so mail comes from your own address. See Sending from your domain.
  3. Add contacts: connect a signup form, import a CSV, or bring in store customers. See Contacts and importing and Collecting signups.
  4. Create your first campaign. See Creating a campaign.

Only subscribed and pending contacts count toward the contact limit. Test sends and confirmation emails don't count toward monthly sends. See Sending and reports for daily caps and what happens at a limit.

Using an agent

Lumi, Claude, and ChatGPT can manage contacts and segments, draft and update campaigns, send tests, schedule or send campaigns, read reports, and change email settings. They ask before anything that sends email, deletes something, or adds people to your list.

Still stuck? Ask Lumi inside the app, or send us a note and a person will answer.
