Pull your Google reviews into BrightSite and show them on your site with widgets.

On this page

Google Reviews brings your business's Google reviews into BrightSite, keeps them in sync, and shows them on your site. Open Google Reviews in the sidebar. It's included on every plan.

Connecting your business

Under Find your business on Google, type your business name and town, or paste a link copied from Google Maps. Pick your listing from the results. No Google sign-in is needed. BrightSite imports the listing's public reviews.

You can run up to 10 business searches a day.

If you manage the listing yourself, you can use Connect Google Business instead and sign in to Google. If your account has several locations, choose one.

To stop, open the … menu and click Disconnect. Your widgets disappear from your site until you connect a business again, but their settings are kept.

Keeping reviews in sync

Under Sync & approval, Check for new reviews sets how often BrightSite looks for new reviews: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. The default is weekly. A full check also runs regularly, and reviews removed from Google disappear after the next full check.

Click Sync now to check right away. You can sync by hand once every 24 hours.

Approving reviews

New reviews can be Automatic or Approve first. With Approve first, new reviews stay off your site until you approve them. Auto-approve can approve reviews at or above a rating you choose.

The review list has tabs for All, Waiting for approval, Pinned, and Hidden. You can pin a review or hide one you don't want shown.

Widgets

A widget controls how reviews look on your site. Every site has a Default widget. Click New widget to add another, give it a Name and Layout, and click Create widget.

  • Max lines for long reviews.
  • Show owner replies.
  • Only reviews with text, to hide ratings with nothing written.
  • Colors, font, and card style.

Click Save widget to keep your changes.

Adding reviews to a page

In the visual editor, add the Google Reviews element and pick a widget from the Widget list. If you edit code, each widget also has a snippet you can paste into a page.

The review button

Turn on Show a review button in a widget to invite visitors to review you. It opens Google's review form for your business. You can change the Button label. The button doesn't show on the Toast or Rotator layouts.

The Your review link card has the same link with a Copy button. Send it to happy customers.

Using an agent

Lumi, Claude, and ChatGPT can check the connection, change review settings, and pull in the latest reviews.
