What is BrightSite

BrightSite is a platform for building and running a website. You edit your pages by clicking on them, publish when you are ready, and BrightSite handles the hosting, the security certificate and the speed.

What you can build

A BrightSite site is made of a few kinds of thing:

• Pages: your home page, about page, service pages and so on. Pages can be nested, so a service page can sit under a services page.
• A blog: posts with a design you control.
• Forms: contact forms, quote requests, applications. Submissions arrive in an inbox and can be emailed to you.
• Media: images and files, organized in folders. BrightSite resizes images automatically for whatever screen they are viewed on.
• A documentation site: a help center like this one, if you need one.

What BrightSite does for you

Some things happen without you asking:

• Images are resized and converted to modern formats so pages load quickly.
• Every page gets structured data describing your business to search engines.
• Your site is served over HTTPS with a certificate that renews itself.
• Every change is versioned, so you can look at what a page used to be and put it back.

Who it is for

Two groups, mostly.

Business owners and operators who want to run their own site without learning web development. You can do everything through the visual editor without seeing any code.

Agencies and developers managing sites for clients. You get code access when you want it, staging sites, granular team permissions, and an interface for driving the whole platform from an AI tool.

What BrightSite is not

It is not a shop. There is no shopping cart, product catalog or checkout. If you need to sell products online, you will need a separate tool for that part.
