Products live under Products in the store menu.

Product types

Choose a type at the top of the product form:

  • Physical: shipped to the buyer. Stock is tracked.
  • Digital: files the buyer downloads after paying. Nothing ships.
  • Donation: the buyer chooses what to give. No shipping or stock, and the receipt is worded for a donation.
  • Gift card: issues a code by email that pays at checkout. See Discounts and gift cards.

Every product has a Title, URL slug, Description, Price, images, and an SEO title and SEO description. Charge tax on this product controls whether tax applies.

Digital downloads

Add files under Files. Under Downloads, set Links expire after (days) and Downloads per file. Both are unlimited unless you set them. Download links are sent in the order confirmation email. You can reset a buyer's downloads from the order page.

Donations

Under Amount, turn on Let customers choose the amount, set a Minimum and Maximum, and add up to 8 Suggested amounts.

Options and variants

Click Add option to add an option, such as Size or Color, with its values. Then click Generate from options to create a variant for each combination.

  • Up to 3 options per product, with up to 100 values each.
  • Up to 250 variants per generate.
  • Each variant has its own Price, Compare at price, SKU, Stock, Track stock, and Allow backorders.

Stock

Turn on Track stock to count stock down as orders come in. Allow backorders keeps a variant on sale after it runs out. The Inventory page lists stock for every variant, with tabs for low and out-of-stock items.

Going live

New products start as drafts. Click Go live to put a product on sale, and Unpublish to take it down. BrightSite warns you before a product with no stock or a price of 0 goes live. You can also archive or delete a product.

Collections

Collections group products for shoppers, such as "New arrivals" or "Gifts under $50". Open Collections, click New Collection, and use Add a product to fill it. You choose the products by hand. Collections have their own pages on your site under /collections.

Reviews

Shoppers can review products. Every review waits in Reviews until you approve it. Reviews from buyers carry a Verified purchase label. You can turn reviews off on the General tab of store settings.

Importing and exporting

  • Products: Import CSV and Export CSV on the Products page. The file has one row per variant. Exports from Shopify and WooCommerce can be imported as they are.
  • Orders: Export CSV, with one row per order or one row per line item. Import past orders brings in order history. Imported orders send no emails and don't change stock.
  • Customers: Import customers on the Customers page. Each row needs an email address.

Imports take one file up to 5 MB. If any row has a problem, nothing is imported, so fix the file and try again.

Using an agent

Import the products in this CSV as drafts, then put them in a "Fall" collection.
