Sending from your domain

Verify your domain so campaigns come from your own address.

Campaigns are most trusted when they come from your own domain, like news@yourbusiness.com. Add domains in Settings → Email.

Verifying a domain

  1. Add the domain.
  2. Add the DNS records shown: three CNAME records for DKIM, and an MX and SPF record for send.yourdomain.com. If you don't have a DMARC record yet, a basic one is suggested.
  3. Wait for verification. BrightSite rechecks on a schedule, or you can check now.

If BrightSite manages your domain's DNS, the records are added for you. You can verify up to 10 domains.

Before you verify

Without a verified domain, campaigns are sent from a shared BrightSite address, with replies going to your Reply-to address. Sending this way is limited to 50 emails a day.

Free addresses such as Gmail or Yahoo can't be used as the From address. Those providers reject mail sent on their behalf.
