Troubleshooting
Common problems, what causes them, and how to fix them.
Most problems people run into have a short answer. Each page in this section takes one symptom, explains what usually causes it, and tells you what to do.
Two checks first
Before anything else, two checks solve a surprising number of cases. Reload the page in your browser. Then check whether the change was published, since editing and publishing are separate steps.
Find your symptom
Look for what you are actually seeing, not what you think is wrong. The cause is often somewhere you would not expect, so start from the symptom and follow it back.
- My changes aren't showing up: you edited a page, but the live site still shows the old version.
- A page can't be found: a link leads to a "not found" error, or an address that worked last week no longer does.
- My domain isn't working: your address does not load at all, shows someone else's page, or warns visitors that the connection is not secure.
- Images look wrong: a photo is cropped in the wrong place, looks blurry, or does not appear at all.
- Form submissions aren't arriving: someone says they contacted you and nothing reached your inbox, or the notification emails stopped.
- Analytics look wrong or empty: no visitors are recorded, or the figures do not match what you expected.
- I can't find or open something in the admin: a menu these guides describe is missing for you, or you are told you do not have permission.
Still stuck
If none of these match, contact support. It helps to say what you were doing, what you expected, what happened instead, and the address of the page where you saw it. See Getting help.
